What MoneyTip is
An information site that compares and explains everyday financial products in Korea — deposits, installment savings, parking accounts — alongside government support schemes. The weight falls on what you actually receive after tax rather than the headline rate, and on the conditions attached to that amount.
What we do not do
We do not sell or broker financial products. We do not take applications and we do not collect personal financial information. Values entered into the interest calculator stay in the browser and are not sent to a server.
We do not recommend particular products, and we do not forecast returns on investment products that carry a risk of principal loss.
How far the figures can be relied on
Every rate and scheme figure carries the date it was checked. Calculations use exact arithmetic, and derived figures are reconciled. Rates can change after the stated date, though, and what is actually paid varies with whether preferential conditions were met and how the financial institution calculates.
Please check the conditions again with the financial institution's official channel before opening an account. The sources and formulas are set out in sources.
Advertising and partnerships
Where an advertising or partnership relationship exists, it is marked on the article concerned. An article without such a mark was written without one.
Quoting our articles
Quoting with attribution is fine. Rates and conditions are as at the verification date, so please confirm against the original source that they still hold at the time of quotation.
Who writes it
MoneyTip is written by Chaeni, who runs her own deposits and pension accounts and works out how much tax comes off them. Rates and deduction requirements are checked against the text of the law, and each article carries the article numbers and the verification date.
Operator
MoneyTip is operated by 제스트컴퍼니 (Zest Company). Questions about the content and correction requests are received through corrections.
